March Mystery Pattern - CAL - Pumpkin Patch
This is an overlay mosaic pattern worked in US terminology. The March Mystery CAL is a crochet-along mystery pattern that was revealed on March 25th, 2021.
The pattern contains 8 panels and can be repeated to the desired width and length. You will need to know the basics of mosaic crochet but there are tons of videos for beginners on YouTube.
The pattern, Pumpkin Patch was named after the yarn I used, Elle’s Color Crush Pumpkin To Think About - a well known yarn brand in South Africa. Mosaic crochet is a dense crochet, no “holes” so is ideal for blankets, rugs, runners, cushions, etc.
You can use a variegated/print/cake yarn and allow the yarn to change colour on its own or you can use two separate colours to create a contrast in the pattern. There will be loads of ends, which are either made into a twisted fringe or you can finish off and enclose all the ends in an envelope border. I hope you enjoy making this blanket as much as I have.
