Log Cabin Spirit - Throw
Thank you for your interest in my latest design Log Cabin Spirit! Inspired by the feel of woodlands and the spirit of a log cabin.
An overlay mosaic crochet pattern with full written instructions, charts with Xs and grid lines every 10/10 stitches. Plus a beautiful 19 row border to finish it off which has fully written instructions and charts. IN ENGLISH ONLY.
My blanket, without the border, using DK yarn is 100cm square, with the border its 121cm square.
You will need 2 different colours of contrasting yarn. You can use any thickness yarn, but the size of the blanket and quantities of yarn will differ.
A crochet hook appropriate for your yarn, I used a size 4.5 hook.
I used Sirdar Saltaire, for the main pattern I used 7 in Stag and 7 in Fawn, 910m each.
The border took more yarn than I was expecting but I’m a loose crocheter. I used 5 extra balls of Stag, 650m, and 8 balls of Fern, 1040m.

Hook and Flow
Welcome!
I create overlay mosaic crochet patterns, I love how creative I can be with just single and double crochet stitches.
I create simple to more complex patterns such as center out techniques, there’s pictorial help and video links in the downloads.
You might notice that all of my patterns have the words spirit or flow in the names, this is my dedication to my late father who was a drummer in a number of bands in the 80’s called “With the Flow” and “Kindled Spirit” and I chose to put those words into my pattern names.
